Trip arround Idrijske Krnice

Idrijske Krnice is the place where the beauty of nature meets with traces of man, where tradition and rich ethnology entwined with the pulse of modern and where, despite the remoteness Life with a capital letter – remains.

 

A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE PLACE

Idrijske Krnice extends off a mountainous village at an altitude of between 850 and 1106 meters, which extends between two valleys. From different vantage points, the view opens onto north against the Julian Alps, west in the villages Jagršče and Šebrelje, south-west it borders cirque plateau above the valley of the River Torrential Kanomljica. Kanomljice deep beneath the flowing river Idrijca at which winding road, also called Keltika, which links the upper Posočje with central Slovenia.

CHARCOAL

FLORA

 In a genuine natural environment, where the Dinaric-Karst world intertwined with the subalpine, in some areas, through the valley of the Soca and Idrijca pulls the influence of the Mediterranean climate, it is home to rich flora. Fertilisation of different effects and terrain diversity deliver an exceptional diversity of flora. Cirque highest peak, Jelinek (1,106 m), is especially known as a habitat of Idrija primrose (Primula x venusta).

ANIMALS

On the remote, from the noise of the far meadows and deep into the steep banks of Idrijske Krnice, descending towards the bed of the rivers Idrijca and Kanomljica home to abundant wildlife. GEOLOGY

         CHURCH OF ST.  FLORIJANA

KULINARIČNA PONUDBA

Kmetija on Kal (Idrijske Krnice 35) is the highest inhabited farmhouse, located at 1050 meters. There is also homemade potatoes and certain types vegetables.
A few years ago a trademark HOUSE OF HERBS saw the light of day (Idrijske Krnice 34). It comprises a wide range of products from herbal teas, liqueurs, natural soaps and ointments etc. Most herbs are grown in the pristine nature, in the fields that are fertilised exclusively with manure, without the addition of artificial fertilisers and pesticides.

RECREATION

Beautiful and clean, yet almost untouched nature offer locals and visitors many opportunities for recreation. Most common are the hiking and biking, in winter event space in Panchali work out cross-country skiing and ski jumping at the 30-meter ski flying hill.

 

For lovers of hiking each year they make the traditional march to Jelenk (1106 m). The starting point is in Spodnja Idrija, near Councillors farmhouse (trail), from where the top brings about an hour and a half walk up the hill along a forest path. In the meantime, you can decide whether to continue the path continues through the forest or you go the most demanding direction through Kenda robe. From Spodnja Idrija you can specify to cirques through Govšk.
